Basboosa (Egyptian Semolina Cake) البسبوسة
If you haven’t tried Basboosa then you’re certainly
missing a lot! Basboosa is an authentic Egyptian recipe for a very special
cake. Basically it is a coarse dense semolina cake with some coconut soaked in
simple syrup to sweeten and moisten it. It melts in your mouth in a matter of
seconds and with every bite you crave the next one! It’s a very easy recipe
that you have got to try soooooooon!

to the Turkish origin of some of Egypt royals.
Sharkaseya is a very famous Egyptian recipe that showcases this influence. Some claim it's originally Turkish, some claim it's purely Egyptian...all I'm sure of is that it is an amazingly delicious dish,Turkish or Egyptian ;-)
